The bicycle in the rain
Una bicicleta perdida reúne a dos vecinos.
Eva normally visits the park to cycle by herself. On a cloudy Saturday, however, an abandoned-looking bicycle changes her plans. It is standing beside a tree, with a yellow bell on its handlebars and rain beginning to collect on its seat. Eva considers moving it under cover, but she knows it belongs to someone else. She chooses a nearby shelter instead, keeping the bicycle in sight while the shower grows stronger. Soon a boy appears, searching around the benches. He seems increasingly anxious. When Eva asks what he has lost, he describes a blue bicycle with a yellow bell. She points towards the tree, and his worried expression turns into relief. The boy introduces himself as Max. He had stopped at a kiosk to buy water, then walked back by a different path. The park's similar-looking trees confused him, and for a moment he thought someone had stolen his bicycle. They talk while waiting for the rain to pass. Max has recently moved to the neighbourhood and does not know many people. Eva offers to show him her favourite cycling route, which follows the pond before returning to the park entrance. By the time the sun comes out, they have completed the route together. Eva discovers that a small act of attention can lead to an unexpected friendship.
